We were very fortunate indeed to be able secure Aboriginal Artist George Williams to create some beautiful Aboriginal paintings at our school. George started painting when he was around 5 years old and has continued his craft and is very proud to share his knowledge of artwork and what it means to Aboriginal people. George’s paintings are strategically placed around our school.
There are 4 paintings on B Block which include an echinda - bigibilla, kangaroo - bundaarr, emu- dhinawar and sand goanna - googar. These are totems of Narrabri. He has also completed a set exclusively for Patti our Aboriginal Education Officer which is of an elderly aboriginal man handing over his knoweldge to a younger man. The huge circles with dots represent the community.
