The Cake Day explained

One of our most popular and successful fundraisers each term is "The Cake Day".  The variety and amount of cakes that are provided by mums and dads, grans and aunties are just amazing and we, along with the kids, really appreciate your provision of these goodies and your future support of these fundraisers!

Every term we kindly ask that students in particular classes donate a cake, cupcakes, slices or biscuits etc to be sold at recess to the entire school.  The order of the classes to provide cakes or other baked goods for sale are:

  • Term 1 – Years 5 and 6
  • Term 2 – Years 3 and 4
  • Term 3 – Years 1 and 2
  • Term 4 – Kindergarten

Notice of the dates of these Cake Days will be included in the school newsletter, and the relevant students will receive a brightly coloured flyer to take home.

What happens on cake day

  • All cakes or goods are dropped off to the staffroom near the front office before 11am. Please send the cakes or baked goods in disposable containers.
  • Students line up to purchase a piece of cake or baked good for 50c per piece.

One cake is purchased at a time, to ensure everyone has a chance to buy something. If there is sufficient left over, then students are encouraged to purchase another. Icing around the face is a dead give away!
  • All helpers wear gloves and cakes are handed out on serviettes.

Volunteers are always welcome to help put out the cakes on trays, to help sell the cakes at recess 11:20 to 11:45am and to help wash up afterwards.

Allergies and dietary requirements

Due to students with nut allergies we ask that there are no nuts in the goodies donated please.

We are sometimes very lucky to have parents bake special dietary requirement cakes for example Gluten Free, Dairy Free however we cannot guarantee the ingredients in all of the cakes baked goods donated.

If you do provide something, perhaps because your child has an intolerance, please label this item as such so that we can keep it separate and make it available to your child and others who have the same intolerance, so that they don't miss out.
