Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Our P&C is a group of parents, carers and school community members. They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our P&C works in partnership with our school to promote the interests of our school community.

Joining the P&C a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!

Our P&C plays a vital role in supporting Narrabri Public School, including managing our school canteen and contributing to a wide range of initiatives that benefit our students and the broader school community. These include:

Organising fundraising activities to support school programs and improvements
Hosting fruit days to promote healthy eating
Running and providing canteen services at school sporting events
Organising the school fete, including coordinating food stalls, activities, and supporting donation collection for our major raffle
Financing the Nitbusters salon to support student wellbeing
Contributing funds towards excursions and incursions
Running our Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls
Supporting school programs and initiatives that enhance student learning and engagement

In 2024 our P&C contributed $27,759 to Narrabri Public School

Ways our P&C support our school

As part of our school’s $20,000 commitment our Variety charity bus in 2024, our P&C contributed $10,000 to help provide inclusive transport options for our students.

Contributed $10,000 towards the installation of new water dispensers across the school, helping improve access to fresh drinking water for all students.

Helps cover the cost of bus travel for school events such as the stage one Narrabri Show visit, intensive swimming programs, and sporting carnivals, ensuring all students can participate fully.

Throughout the year, our P&C hosts a range of fundraising activities, including our popular Easter chocolate raffle and major raffle held as part of the school fete, helping raise valuable funds to support school initiatives.

P&C meetings

The P&C meets twice a term in Weeks 4 and 8, on Wednesdays at 6:00 pm in the staffroom. Meetings are held in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and everyone is welcome.

New members are always encouraged to come along and see how you can support your child’s school. Children are welcome to join you at the meeting. You can attend in person or via Zoom, with the meeting link posted on the P&C and school Facebook pages before the meeting.
