Stage Three Resources

Dear Families,  

As per NSW Health and NSW Department of Education Guidelines, we have moved into a remote learning phase. To support our students and their families throughout this period, your child’s class teacher has helped to develop and select structured learning tasks that will ensure your child is able to confidently progress with their learning during this period.  

Below is a list of tasks that your child can participate in to support their learning. Reading daily is always essential and other tasks can be rostered throughout the week to maintain a balanced approach to your child’s learning.  

• Read every day, as a quiet activity or out loud to a family member, pet or other 

• Work on a geography project- choose an Asian Country and develop a Powerpoint presentation, project poster or travel brochure to present information (some of you may have already started this) 

• Reading, writing and reciting times table facts and their inverse division facts  e.g. 4x5 = 20      5x4 =20   20÷5 =4   20÷4 = 5 

• Accessing other online learning platforms such as:  

• NSW Education LIVE Stream  - different presentations everyday, guest speakers and activities 

• https://www.e-learningforkids.org/ 

• https://au.ixl.com/  - online maths activities for all grades 

• https://newywithkids.com.au/best-online-kids-resources-australia/  - a website with many links to other online pages for learning 

Additionally, there are rubrics of optional ‘can do’ activities that you may wish to include depending on your family’s capacity to complete the work. All tasks come with worksheets where required. 

We understand that many of our parents will also be trying to work from home, or there may be other school-aged children in the house that also need support with their learning. Please attempt what you can, but also take the time to enjoy developing your child’s life skills and sharing some of your own strengths and experiences with your children; creating memories that they will treasure.  

We will give you a call to check in over the coming days. Please remember we are only a phone call away and are always more than happy to answer a question or just be there to support you in sharing our teaching role. Completed tasks can be returned to school for marking.
