Narrabri Public School boys and girls softball teams were crowned the 2022 North West Softball Champions after winning both finals in Tamworth on Tuesday 13th September. What an amazing achievement!
The boys team played Tamworth Public followed by the girls playing Kootingal Public. Both our boys and girls teams played some exciting softball throughout the matches, with brilliant catches being taken, some great hits and the base running was outstanding. The way the players supported one another throughout the matches was tremendous, and the parents and supporters that travelled over to watch could not have been happier with the way our teams played, especially their sportsmanship.
The boys won their game by 16 runs to 7 after 4 innings and the girls won their game by 14 runs to 4 after 3 innings. Both our teams are now down to the last 8 in NSW, which is an amazing effort and well deserved with all the hard work that they have been putting in at training each week.
The next game for the boys will be against a North Sydney area team and the girls will be playing Molong Public School. The date and venues for these matches will be advised as soon as we have the information.
NPS would like to congratulate all the players and a special thank you to the parents that transported the students over to Tamworth and cheered them on throughout the games.
