Regular school attendance helps your child to achieve and grow in their learning. Coming to school every day enables your child to build connections with students and develop friendships. Students’ learning becomes easier with consistency and practice and this can only happen with regular attendance.
There may be times when your child does need to be absent from school. Justified reasons for student absence include:
- being sick or having an infectious disease
- having an unavoidable medical appointment • being required to attend a recognised religious holiday
- exceptional or urgent family circumstances. If your child is away then an explanation is required within 7 days from the first to the last day of absence. The school will contact you within 2 days to discuss the absence.
Medical certificates can be requested for frequent long term absences that are explained as being due to illness. If you have any concerns regarding your child’s attendance please make an appointment. Together we can make learning count.
